Download our FREE World Book Day resources

As part of World Book Day (7th March 2024), we are inviting teachers to download and deliver our free to use World Book Day resources! We have created a variety of activities for schools which aim to engage the children in discussing their favourite books, characters and stories. These activities can take place in the classroom, the hall or outside.

For Reception and Year 1 we have a game of ‘Would You Rather?’, which involves the children talking about story characters and discussing their preferences with reasons.

For Year 2 we have a networking grid, where the children find different answers from different children in their class. A lovely way to support the discussion could be to invite some older pupils to partner up with the Y2 children for this game. KS2 also have a networking game, with slightly different questions.

Coming back together to discuss responses will be a fun, valuable and interesting exercise in speaking, listening and reasoning. Whole class votes could even be carried out to find the favourite book, genre, character, author or setting in your class.

These are great ways to help your school celebrate books, reading, imagination and language on or near World Book Day 2024!

We’re offering one lucky person a chance to win a £100 National Book Token to use in their school! To enter simply…
