PE and Sports Premium Funding
A recent update to the PE and Sport Premium conditions now means that funding must be spent in full by the end of the 2021-2022 academic year, including any underspend from previous years, along with the information published about your spending on your school’s website by 31st July 2022.
Many schools around the country are already using their PE and Sport Premium funding to subscribe to Teach Active and embed active learning within their schools. So, if you’ve got premium leftover to use Teach Active could be the perfect resource for your school.
What is the PE & Sport Premium?
A quick reminder that the PE & Sport Premium provides primary schools with £320 million of government funding to make additional and sustainable improvements to the quality of the PE, physical activity and sport offered through their core budgets. It is allocated directly to schools, so they have the flexibility to use it in the way that works best for their pupils.
Any product used by the funding should help develop improvements in the following 5 key indicators:
- Engagement of all pupils in regular physical activity
- The profile of PE and sport is raised across the school as a tool for whole-school improvement
- Increased confidence, knowledge and skills of all staff in teaching PE and sport
- Broader experience of a range of sports and physical activities offered to all pupils
- Increased participation in competitive sport
How can Teach Active help?
The good news is that Teach Active does qualify for the PE & Sport Premium funding. Our lesson plans and resources are designed to deliver the Maths and English curriculum through physically active learning. Plans are written by Maths/English consultants, are mapped to the primary curriculum and cover all objectives from Reception to Year 6.
