Teach Active Poetry

National Poetry Day is a yearly celebration taking place on the first Thursday of October that encourages all to celebrate and share poetry. This year, National Poetry Day takes place on 7 October 2021.

National Poetry Day generates an explosion of activity across the UK – in schools, libraries and at home both online and offline – all celebrating poetry’s power to bring people together.

If you’re planning poetry in your school – reading, writing, performing – check out our range of resources available on your Teach Active dashboard. Written in partnership with The Literacy Company our Active English resource contains 17 exciting poems featuring 150 lesson plans!
